About This Gin
This time around we’re doing an interesting contrast. A pair of gins that found two different ways of upping the flavour – a navy strength and a spiced gin. The Cirka is a craft Quebecois gin made from local grain and bottled at 100 British naval proof aged for two months in Cirka’s own ex-whisky casks. It also won gold at the 2020 Gin Masters, which is very impressive!

Tasting Notes
From the makers: “Our Navy Strength Gin is a contemporary twist with boosted citrus notes of sweet orange and lemongrass, then rested for two months in our corn whisky barrels for added roundness.”
Adam’s notes: “It’s not one of those gins that tries to hide the juniper. There’s a good juniper presence in this, with a nice big spice and citrus. The same kind of spice and citrus you might find in a hot toddy – there’s a honey sweetness in it, but then there are cloves studded into lemon. With lemon peel as well as lemon juice, multiple layers of lemon.”
