About This Gin
Did you miss us? The Juniper Collective has been on hold since early 2020 (any guesses why?), but we’re proud to be back! Just like previously, we’ll be featuring a new pair of gins every month, and you can come into the store and try them both for just $5 (with a bonus mini can of Phillip’s tonic). Plus, if you’re a member you get 10% off!!!
So the first couple of gins are a bit special because they are designed specifically to be a contrasting pair! Usually, we’ll feature two different gins from two different regions or countries – but just for a change, we’re doing two brand new gins from a very familiar local producer. Yes, it’s the very same Driftwood that brings you such wonderful beers as Fat Tug and my personal favourite Crooked Coast. They decided to release two gins that are really quite different from each other.
The “Parabola” is designed specifically to highlight floral notes, a task that they achieve astoundingly well. I often find floral gins to be a bit much, but somehow Driftwood have pulled off a very tricky style. Strongly floral, but not overpowering in the least – quite a feat. The other gin is the citrus-inspired “Contact”, which you can see more about here.

Tasting Notes
From the makers: “A Fragrant Floral Formula; Infused with Rose, Lavender, Violet and Iris”
Adam’s notes: “Reminds me of parma violet candies, and old Bowmore scotch. Perfumy, but in all the right ways.”
